Even before Santa Claus arrived at the end of the Amherstburg Santa Claus Parade, there were over 400 look-alikes who preceded him on the parade route.

Chris Uszynski, main organizer of the Super Santa Run, estimated Saturday night the run brought in roughly $12,000. All proceeds are earmarked for the Amherstburg-to-Essex Greenway Trail.
"It's an important piece of infrastructure for any community particularly for those of us who are active," said Uszynski.
The Amherstburg-to-Essex Greenway Trail, once complete, will link into the Chrysler Canada Greenway and thus link Amherstburg to the trail system that runs through Essex County.
An unseasonably warm and breezy night welcomed the runners and Uszynski gave much of the credit to the event's success to that.
"It's all in the weather," said Uszynski. "Can you think of a more beautiful night than this? Stunning."
The run was marketed a lot outside of the Windsor-Essex County area, he added, with runners from as far as Brantford attending. Many from southeastern Michigan also participated.
"We're marketing it outside and we're getting a good response," said Uszynski.
Uszynski said the event consistently grows and he hopes it becomes an event that is synonymous with Amherstburg. The fact it is a 4K run/walk makes it "doable" for participants, each adorned with a Santa suit.

"It's because of money we get from events like this that we can do events like this," said Wyma.
Wyma also encouraged people to vote for the Amherstburg-to-Essex Greenway Trail in the Aviva Community Fund online contest. People were encouraged to vote daily until noon Nov. 30 so that the project can be eligible for additional funding.

Back for the third straight year was Richard Peddie and his wife Colleen. Peddie, president and CEO of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, maintains a home on Bob-Lo Island said it is a "spectacular" event.
"The town really stands out because they do great events," said Peddie.
The former Boston Marathon participant said in his running prime, he'd be able to run the 4K route in about 17 minutes. He joked that his speed wouldn't be as good Saturday night.
