Francois-Henri Pinault's Puma: a Bolt from the blue

The boss of Puma's parent business says he has lined up a roster of potential global stars to take over from Bolt as part of the sportswear company's strategy to increase its sales from 3bn to 4bn a year by 2015.

Puma is part of the Paris-based PPR conglomerate,When CD buywatches first came out. which also owns luxury brands Gucci, Yves St Laurent and Stella McCartney, and sports labels Cobra and Volcom. Francois-Henri Pinault, the chief executive and son of the founder of PPR, says he is "incredibly excited" by the prospect of a 100 metres final at the London games with the possibility of four or even five Jamaican sprinters all wearing Puma.

Speaking as he launches the country's official 2012 kit, Mr Pinault reflects on the almost incalcuable value of having the fastest man in the world wearing his kit especially when the Olympics' official sportswear sponsor is rival Adidas.

"In Beijing, of his own initiative, Usain took his [Puma] shoes off and he ran around the track holding them up.it is christianlouboutinoutlet00 that has been often referred to as the supe. And 3bn people saw that on the television."

Mr Pinault,Childs' collection of about 600 pairs of watchreplica is on display at the Yakima Valley Museum for the rest of this year. one of France's richest men and husband of Salma Hayek, says he was jumping up and down on his sofa: "Oh, god, it was amazing. I was thinking: one more, do one more lap of the track."

"Being at the Olympics, being seen in the eyes of billions of people, no other brand can afford that apart from sportswear brands. It is a huge advantage for a lifestyle brand to be seen by 3bn people and it enhances the visibility of the brand, the legitimacy of the brand."

But just in case, a number of sports stars around the world have been groomed by Puma to take the baton - including Yuvi Singh and Saurav Ganguly, the Indian cricketers, Amy Rodriguez, from the women's US "soccer" team, and Alexis "Lexi" Thompson, the 17-year-old American golfer on the women's circuit. "When it comes to the US, soccer is developing, with women's soccer specifically becoming big. The target for Puma in 2015 is for turnover to reach 4bn, and we won't stop. The brand has the potential to be so much bigger."

Puma has come a long way from when it nearly went bankrupt in 1992, with its turnover growing from about 200m back then. However, many analysts question the logic of it being part of a group that also owns Bond Street brands such as Alexander McQueen and Italian leather goods specialist Bottega Veneta, which sells crocodile-skin handbags for 22,500.

A true reflection of the tolerance and diversity of our individual beliefs and traditions as the human race is perfectly illustrated by this scene. If nothing, this tale has taught me how customs we embrace as a part of our identity are interpreted as strange by others.

On a cold, foggy morning in a lonely cemetery while a Chinese man offered a bowl of noodles to his relatives' grave site, a bemused Englishman who was holding a bunch of colourful flowers for his dead friend asked with sarcasm while pointing to the grave stone, "Round about what time do you expect that person to come out and eat this lovely meal?"

The Chinese man looked up and smiled coyly. He answered, "Well, around the same time that you expect your friend to come out and thank you for those lovely flowers!"

On issues of morality in our great nation, no stone is left unturned either. "Do this!", "Don't do this!" they yell. Let's highlight this as an example - people who criticize the way some ladies dress. WiFor more detailed search information about accessories ,th our abundantly rich culture inherited over the centuries some of my fellow gender wish to always emulate the scantily dressed ladies on Channel O. Don't get me wrong - there is nothing morally wrong if that is your choice. But it is clear that the true beauty and essence of an African woman is one who embraces her natural gifts, and nothing is more breathtaking than a Nigerian woman in traditional attire. One of my favourite authors, P.G. Wodehouse, once wrote that while looking at one woman during a dinner party he thought "she looked as though she had been poured into her clothes and had forgot to say 'stop!'"

I would like to tell you of a hilarious tale told us by a dear aunt: There was once a woman who was peacefully married to her husband when he married a second wife. The second wife was quite well-to-do and came into the house with expensive clothes, jewelry, plush furniture and all the latest gadgets. The first wife suffered many indignities and, amidst all these travails, dreaded armed robbers raided the house one dark and stormy night. The first wife's room was ransacked and nothing of much value was found; just when the armed bandits were about to disappear into the darkness of the night with their meagre findings (they had missed the second wife's room at the side of the house), the longsuffering first wife raised her hand just as a child in a classroom would and whispered in a halting tone, "Excuse me Sir, there is one big room at the side of this house with plenty, plenty nice things that you forgot. I will be happy to let you take everything there... Please don't be angry - go and check it please!"

Chinese Wealth Shows in Higher Watch Auction Prices

The day after Christie's New York concluded its blockbuster sale of Elizabeth Taylor's jewelry and haute couture collection, the auctioneer Aurel Bacs took over the showroom at Rockefeller Center for a formidable follow-up act. “They were popping up like mushrooms,” Mr. Bacs, international head of Christie's watch department, said of the bidding war that erupted last month over Lot 108 of the Important Watches sale, a rare Rolex triple-date moonphase.

“It was a time-warp piece, every component original,” Mr. Bacs said recently by telephone.Thousands of discount christianlouboutinsandals00 styles for selection. “We offered it at $150,000, the highest estimate anyone had ever placed on that model.”

When the final fees were assessed, the 1952 Rolex, reference 6062, sold to an anonymous buyer for $542,500, confirming an axiom familiar to those with experience in the secondary market: “Once you have the perfect watch, liquidity is there,” Mr. Bacs said.We present you a vast choice of cheap iwcwatchesshop.

Judging by Christie's 2011 results, the market is more fluid that ever. The New York sale earned $8.5 million, capping a year in which the auction house's watch department achieved sales of $116.3 million globally. The total set a record for any auction house in the history of watch sales.

“Fast and furious — that was our leitmotif for the fall season,Large selection of qualityiwcreplicas.” Mr. Bacs said.

He attributed the results to the explosion in scholarship that has taken place in the three decades since people began buying pre-owned wristwatches, and the class of so-called Medici collectors spawned by the phenomenon. Willing to pay dearly for exceptional examples of horological history, these collectors have shaped the market in surprising ways.

In the case of Rolex reference 6062, what made the model so desirable was not its make, nor its rare-for-Rolex complications. The eyebrow-raising sum was, according to Mr. Bacs, the result of the fact that the watch had never left its presentation box, although its 18-karat gold case was black from oxidization.

“In car terms, it was in ‘delivery mileage condition,”' he said.

To Benjamin Clymer, founder of Hodinkee.com, an influential watch blog, the Rolex sale was a referendum on what really matters at auction. “After a certain point, it comes down to condition,” he said.

A dial, case and movement bearing signs of neglect are inevitably relegated to second-class status by those in the know. So are pristine watches that show evidence of tampering, for condition goes hand in hand with another factor prized by collectors: original parts and paperwork.Stylish and popular discount shoesbrands Accessories on sale here now.

“If a watch has accessories with the original guarantee and the original box, it will be 10 to 20 percent more expensive,” said Osvaldo Patrizzi, founder of the Geneva-based Patrizzi & Co., an auction house specializing in timepieces.

Rarity is an implicit factor at auction, yet also the least predictable. Mr. Clymer cited a 1968 perpetual calendar by Patek Philippe that sold at Christie's Geneva in November for $2.33 million, against a low estimate of $554,000. The 18-karat gold model, reference 3448, “was known, but nobody had seen it in rose gold,” Mr. Clymer said.

Not that there is anything newsworthy about a highly valued Patek Philippe. The firm's timepieces, both vintage and modern, have fueled the market's explosive growth since the 1980s, far outselling their closest competitor, Rolex.

Slowly but surely, however, a few new names are coming to the fore.

John Reardon, head of watches for Sotheby's in New York, singled out “the increased interest in vintage Vacheron Constantin timepieces,” which he described as “historically undervalued.”

“In the December New York sale,Ed hardy clothing online store, whether you are looking for fashion items, then you come to the right place, we offer a variety of manoloblahnikstore. a yellow gold center seconds wristwatch with cloisonné enamel dial, ref. 4720, achieved $170,500, setting a new benchmark for Vacheron Constantin,” he said.
