Rattlers' men fall again

Immediately after Clemon Johnson walked into the post-game interview room Saturday evening at Moore Gymnasium, someone in the crowd asked him how he felt.

"Not well," Johnson responded, trying to conceal his disappointment.

Understandably so. For the seventh time in as many games since taking over as head coach of the Florida A&M men's basketball team, Johnson watched as his team went down in defeat, 74-59, to Bethune-Cookman. This one spoke volumes more than the others they'd played, mostly because it was the first MEAC game.

B-CU's Anthony Breeze single-handedly made it a difficult night for the Rattlers, scoring 22 points.

"This is a game I thought we'd match up well in (but) the big guy, Breeze, just wore us out," Johnson said. "This was the first time I saw our big guy Yannick Crowder got beat like that. He just got outplayed tonight and once he got outplayed, the game out of hand."

Breeze had plenty of help from Adrian Coleman, who scored 18 points in 29 minutes off the bench. In all, the Wildcats' reserves scored 39 points.

With Breeze shadowing his every move, Crowder was held to seven points.Find a huge selection of youredhardyhoodies, Reggie Lewis was the only double-digit scorer for the Rattlers with 10.

FAMU didn't lead after 16:56 of the first half, and it couldn't put together a sustained run. It did, however, cut a 13-point B-CU lead to five on a jumper by Isaac Brown with 14:43 to play in the second half.

Five minutes later, B-CU was back up by 13 when Coleman dunked off a Ricky Johnson assist. B-CU followed that with a 7-0 run and immediately most of FAMU's fans began to head for the exit.

There were still 8:23 for the Rattlers to hope.

"I was looking forward to us closing the gap a little more," Johnson said. "Unfortunately, they were a better team than us. I was hoping that we had another run, but unfortunately we didn't have one."

Turnovers in the first half haunted the Rattlers. They gave up the ball 13 times and B-CU made them pay with 16 points. They committed two more turnovers by the end of the night.

"It was just mental lapses; a few mistakes," Crowder said. "They go down, you can use a suitswordpress. score a basket. We go down, shoot and miss. They go down and score another basket. Things like that."

FAMU went into halftime trailing 38-29, but had done much better on the boards than the Wildcats,China louisvuittonshoes catalog. taking down 17 to 12 for B-CU. But with Breeze imposing his will against a much taller FAMU team, the Rattlers couldn't find an answer.

"It was a breakdown in defense, wholesaleedhardy, the uncrowned French king of luxury designer heels, brought a prototype from his new men's range to Dublin yesterday." Crowder said. "I wish we could have done more."
